As part of our 10th-anniversary celebration, join us at The Basement Theatre for an evening filled with top-notch live music—coffeehouse style—to raise funds for our non-profit Whoop & Hollar Folk Festival.
Featuring the award-winning Raine Hamilton String Trio, who will be kicking off their Western Canadian tour in Portage la Prairie! The ensemble will serenade the soul with their prism-clear vocals and strings, reminiscent of Joni Mitchell and Sara Harmer with elements of a chamber string quartet.
Bringing together the most resonant qualities of classical and folk music, the band promises a unique listening experience—you'll hear guitar, violin, cello, double bass, and hurdy-gurdy (a Medieval stringed instrument). 2018 Canadian Folk Music Award recipient and 2019 Whoop & Hollar past-performer, Raine Hamilton, is a profound singer-songwriter, composer, and storyteller who has performed alongside both the Winnipeg Symphony and Manitoba Chamber Orchestras.
Proudly presented by Whoop & Hollar Folk Festival. All proceeds go to the non-profit Whoop & Hollar Folk Festival to support local music and art programming in Portage la Prairie and Manitoba.
