Getting Here

Are you looking for a fun, inexpensive, and eco-friendly way to make it out to Folk Fest?

We have four solutions:

(1) CYCLE to the festival venues (an organized "Cycle to Folk Fest" ride will be leaving Portage la Prairie's Herman Prior Activity Centre (40 Royal Rd. N.) at 10:00 am on Saturday)

(2) CARPOOL with friends and family

(3) SHARE A RIDE with others with using the free online GOMANITOBA rideshare/commuter app (launched in 2017 by the Green Action Centre)

(4) Take the FREE HOP-ON FESTIVAL SHUTTLE on Saturday, departing downtown Portage la Prairie (Herman Prior Activity Centre, 40 Royal Rd. N.) for the main festival site via the RV Campground, and return. The shuttle will run at 2-hour intervals between 11:00 am and midnight. Sunday shuttle service between Venues 1 & 2 will be provided, only by demand.

Parking Zones (Venue 1)

Several parking zones surround the festival site, with some spots being situated as far as 10-15 minutes (by foot) from the mainstage. Pay attention to the location of the parking zones below (1 through 3, map above), and plan to arrive early if parking closer to the festival site is a priority. Parking attendants will be present earlier on to direct traffic. A drop-off and loading zone is located at the main gate.

ENTRANCE POINTS are Gates A, B, and C. The Main Gate is Gate A, where the Box Office is located at the entrance to the drop-off zone. All festival-goers purchasing tickets must enter through Gate A, off Highway 331. Campers must enter through the North Gate (Gate C). Gate B is for passholders only. Passholders may enter through either gate.

CAMPERS using the tent campground on site are asked to enter through GATE C. Wheelbarrows will be available to provide assistance with shuttling camping gear to the campground. Simply ask one of our volunteers if you need help with anything. Vehicles can unload in campground, if necessary.

ZONE 1 (blue) between Hwy 331 and Gate C is the designated parking area for vehicles coming from the EAST. Parking is only permitted on the WEST side of the lane. Turn-around at end of the lane. Festival-goers may follow this zone north to a neighbouring property that allows limited additional parking.

ZONE 3 (red) is the WEST side of Road 34 W, NORTH of Hwy 331. This zone is designated as the parking area for vehicles coming from the WEST. Turn-around at end of the road. Festival-goers may follow this zone north to a neighbouring property that allows limited additional parking.

ZONE 2 (green) is the area along the NORTH side of Highway 331 ONLY. Parking here is NOT recommended and is maximum overflow parking only! Please use Parking Zones 1 & 3. If you do park here, be extremely careful and DO NOT park overnight as you will be towed!

Drivers passing the festival site on the highway will be cautioned regarding event parking and pedestrian crossings with signage. However, the speed limit is 90 km/h through this area during PEAK harvest time, and we emphasize that festival-goers be extremely cautious at all times. Thank you!

Please be aware that the DROP-OFF & LOADING ZONE (purple) is designated for drop-offs and pick-ups only - you can NOT park here. People who are elderly or have disabilities are invited to be dropped off here to enter through Gate A.

Limited DISABILITY-FRIENDLY PARKING is available at the back of site, accessible through Gate C.

Parking Zones (Venue 2, Island Park)

Vehicles will park along the left sides of Brandon Avenue, George Hill Drive, and International Drive along the Island Park circle drive. Overflow parking will be located at the Stride Place Parking lot, about a 10-minute walk away. Limited disability-friendly parking is available off Brandon Avenue in the parking lot behind the mainstage.
