You're in for a real treat, music lovers—the one and only David Essig is coming to Portage la Prairie on tour, for an acoustic listening room/house concert experience!
Kick off the Open Mic & Jam Night season with this laid back concert co-presented by Whoop & Hollar Folk Festival, Dan Larson, and Home Routes/Chemin Chez Nous.
It's all taking place at one of Portage la Prairie's most popular venues, Cedar Lounge (located in the basement of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #65), on Tuesday, November 22nd at 8:00 pm. Doors open at 7:30 pm. Tickets $20/person (also available at the door).
SHOW SUMMARY:
David Essig may have started out fifty years ago as a hired-gun blues guitarist and mandolin player, but today he’s best known as one of Canada’s most enduring and literate singer-songwriters. On festival stages and in intimate solo concert settings, David is a songwriter with a difference.
With his authentic voice that bridges the blues and country music traditions, David performs his original guitar-driven songs with the narrative precision of a fiction author - which, in fact, he is.
