GETTING HERE (& PARKING):
Are you looking for a fun, inexpensive, and eco-friendly way to make it out to Folk Fest?
We have four solutions:
(1) CYCLE to the festival with the organized "Bike to Folk Fest" ride, leaving Portage la Prairie in the afternoon
(2) CARPOOL with friends and family
(3) SHARE A RIDE with others with using the free online GOMANITOBA rideshare/commuter app (launched in 2017 by the Green Action Centre);
(4) Take the "WHOOP & HOLLAR HIPPIE BUS" shuttle for just $10/person, round-trip (will only run by demand/interest)!

DIRECTIONS TO SITE
Hoop & Holler Bend, Hwy 331 (2.5 km east of junction of Highways 331 & 240). 5 minutes southeast of Portage la Prairie, 45 minutes west of Winnipeg.
From Downtown Portage la Prairie: Take Highway 240 (Tupper Street) south to Crescent Rd (continue following Hwy 240 route), turn left, and continue straight to River Rd (do not take exit to Wilkinson Crescent). Follow Hwy 240 out of city limits, across the Hwy 1 overpass, and then straight across the Assiniboine River to the 4-way intersection (Hwys 240 & 331). Turn left on Hwy 331, and continue east for about 1.5 miles (2.5 km) to the festival grounds on the north side (left) of highway, where parking volunteers will direct your vehicle to a parking spot, show you to the nearest festival gate, and/or guide you to the drop-off zone where guests in your party requiring assistance can be escorted. Signage will be placed at strategic points along the route; follow the arrows.
PARKING ZONES (please read carefully - see map below)
Several parking zones surround the festival site, with some spots being situated as far as 10-15 minutes (by foot) from the mainstage. Pay attention to the location of the parking zones below (1 through 3), and plan to arrive early if parking closer to the festival site is a priority. Parking attendants will be present earlier on to direct traffic. A drop-off and loading zone is located at the main gate. Gates open at NOON.
ENTRANCE POINTS are Gates A, B, and C. The Main Gate is Gate A, where the Box Office is located at the entrance to the drop-off zone. Gates B & C are additional pathways leading onto the site. Gate C is for campers and purchasing tickets, and Gate B is for passholders only.
CAMPERS using the tent campground on site are asked to enter through GATE C. Wheelbarrows will be available to provide assistance with shuttling camping gear to the campground. Simply ask one of our volunteers if you need help with anything.
ZONE 1 between Hwy 331 and Gate C is the RECOMMENDED PARKING ZONE! Parking is only permitted on the WEST side of the lane. Note that the stretch of Zone 1 north of Gate C is not graveled and will only be open if dry.
ZONE 2 is the area along the NORTH side of Highway 331 ONLY. Please be VERY CAREFUL when parking along this highway and when crossing this highway; parking here is NOT recommended! Drivers passing through this zone will be cautioned regarding event parking and pedestrian crossings with signage. However, the speed limit is 90 km/h through this area during PEAK harvest time, and we emphasize that festival goers be extremely cautious at all times. Thank you!
ZONE 3 is the WEST side of Road 34 W, NORTH of Hwy 331, indicated in red. This zone is recommended as an overflow parking area. However, anyone may park here. Festival goers may follow this zone north to a neighbouring property that allows angled parking along the driveway (ZONE 4 is CLOSED).
Please be aware that the DROP-OFF & LOADING ZONE (purple) is designated for drop-offs and pick-ups only - you can NOT park here. People who are elderly or have disabilities are invited to be dropped off here to enter through Gate A.
Limited DISABILITY-FRIENDLY PARKING is available at the back of site, accessible through Gate C.
On the day of the festival, be sure to check the website and social media pages for updates on parking availability. Again, PLEASE BE CAREFUL ON HIGHWAY 331 AFTER PARKING; DRIVERS, PLEASE SLOW DOWN FOR PEDESTRIANS! Follow the signs.
